**Super Late Super Long Ramencon Weekend Post** Some many amazing things took place this Ramencon weekend that may seem small to most but the small things are the most important to me. Here are a few. 1. Con Team: I was able to invite my friend Jessica to take the trip with us as her birthday con. She was able to experience another con besides anime Boston and at the same time travel to a state she has never been. She was also able to see how the We Rise Mag crew operates at a convention. She also got interact with some cool voice actors a lil more than the average con attendee would. Oh and her first #TeamNoSleep 2. Guest: I finally was able to meet one of the first voice actors I was a fan of, J. Michael Tatum. I have been waiting about 2 yrs to meet him, but never attended a con he was at until now. Funny thing is I will see him at 2 more times in the next two weeks at AWA and AUSA. We were able to get an interview with him (https://youtube/watch?v=TwqHJeKv2vg) He rubbed Juan and my heads at the request of one of our friends. I got to meet David Brehm in person after talking to him online a few times. Always a blast seeing Todd Haberkorn, that guy is just funny and cool. As he was signing Juans copy of his concert DVD I recognized the cover photo. It was one I took of him at his concert during AWA 2013. He wants to do another lipdub but I dont think I can make the location he said would be perfect. The con has a great VA lineup also that would more than likely join in. :( We Interviewed The Brehms, and attended their concert. I got to stand in as sound guy lol, also got a T-Shirt and signed CD. 3. Friends: I travel west so I can see Juan, Johnathan, Ansel, Rudy and the rest of the gang. We might only see each other once or twice a year but its a fun time when we do meet up at Acen or Ramencon. Makes it well worth the road trip 4. PHOTOS! You all know how much I luv taking photos, and I Was able to get some cool shots with attendees 5. Experiences: Attending cons has giving me too many new experiences to count. I have gained many new friends through this community. I have been able to meet just about every voice actor that I am a fan of, and become friends with most of them. All the above helped create an outstanding weekend, but what stuck with me the most is a random attendee I met. The crew was hanging out during Todds signing and a fellow videographer came up to us and asked what cameras we were working with. We started to chat and like I wanted to help by giving him some pointers because he was having issues with grain in his video. Fast forward to Sunday group signing, I run into the gentleman again. We chat a little, as he is leaving he stops to say goodbye and he says to me It was c ool meeting DC Douglas but meeting you was the highlight of my weekend. Thanks for the help and info. I was truly taken back by that.
