Super hearty and PDQ (pretty damn quick) on a warm day when you dont feel like standing over the grill or stove! Mix it up with veggies you like- experiment with this basic recipe. ZINGY CHEESE HAM & PASTA SALAD 1/2 cup 1000 Island Dressing 3 tablespoons olive oil 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar 3 tablespoons Zingy Cheese Zest 1 (16 ounce) package farfalle (bow-tie) pasta 8 ounces cooked ham, cut into 1-inch cubes 8 ounces Cheddar cheese, cut into 1 -inch cubes 1 cup peas 3 cloves chopped garlic 1/2 cup minced onion 2 stalks celery, thinly sliced 2 tablespoons carrot, chopped 1/2 cup chopped herbs (parsley & basil) DIRECTIONS: 1. Whisk dressing, vinegar and olive oil in a bowl until combined; season with Zingy Cheese Zest. Chill in refrigerator while preparing remaining ingredients. 2. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook bow-tie pasta at a boil, stirring occasionally, until cooked through yet firm to the bite, about 12 minutes; drain and transfer to a large bowl. 3. Gently stir ham, Cheddar cheese, peas, onion, garlic, celery, carrots, and herbs into pasta. Pour dressing mixture over pasta mixture and toss to evenly coat. Sprinkle with Zingy Cheese Zest. 4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate 4 hours to overnight.
