Super honored to have OPENED the show for Vivienne Hus 2015 f/w Mercedes Benz Runway collection. It was such a great experience, and she worked so hard on the designs... Im very proud of her team. I felt really humbled to be representing the first look of the morning and was overwhelmed by the kindness of the press and her team afterwards. Not gonna lie though, I was a little nervous to do the show. Last night one of the models commented that I had very large power thighs. They suggested I wear a pants outfit instead... if you can try to fit into it. They commented again this morning that I looked a little bit like Neil Patrick Harris rendition of Hedwig and the Angry Inch when I walked. The truth was- I did and I do. Comparatively to the other young model girls, my legs arent stick thin up to the crotch. I DO have kinda power thighs. And when too much red lipstick or eyeshadow is applied I can look uncannily overdone like a moderately active drag queen to some. I DEFINITELY stick out in a line up of women. But thats MY look. MINE. I am androgynous. And I love it. I love that my body is a healthy reflection of my ambiguity- my masculine brow, strong nose, and power thighs- warring against my 32Ds, soft lips, and smooth skin makes me... ME. And in a world of fashion where everyone is trying to be unique- the most individual standout thing to do is not change clothing or makeup or hair... its to be yourself. Your true self.
