Super-sucky week. Got played. Hurt some friends because of my involvement in being played and now Im physically sick. Trust in people has been shaken. I learned my lesson though. Ill be much more careful and pay better attention from now on. Just hoping I didnt damage any relationships because of this, whether they be friendships or business relationships. For anyone wanting to know, I was asked to help with some video game tournament promos for a group of DOTA fans in Egypt. These short paragraphs for their promos had some similarities to what I do with Honest Trailers but they seemed like nods to them more than straight-up rip-offs and I vaguely remember having a conversation telling them not to copy them and not to call it that. They took a bunch of small clips and made a full fake Honest Trailer and then called it one and used the logo Honest Trailer in the thumbnail without my knowledge. Ive been furious about it. It made it look like we supported this thing and we didnt. Now theyre calling me a liar in front of my friends and publicly saying I helped write them (I only checked grammar and dont know anything about DOTA) Im just trying to cover myself when in reality I was misled and lied to. Theyre telling people they have me exclusively helping them and working on a game pack when neither is true. Privately, theyre trying to make things cool in hopes Ill continue to help them out while trying to hurt my reputation in public. I cant believe these jerks. Ive refused to be a part of their garbage and Ive asked them to remove me from anything theyve posted which they agreed to but actually refuse to do. Their video is still up and my name and voice is still attached to it. My mistakes were being too nice to fans and not paying better attention. Thats what I get. I get so many requests its impossible to keep track. A mistake I wont make in the future. Ill be paying extra careful attention in the future to all fan requests attempting to take advantage of my good nature.
