Superset workouts can be used for many purposes. Most now use supersets in the modern sense, whereby you do two exercises back to back no rest for the same muscle group. It’s used to ramp up intensity, force blood into the muscle and either break through plateaus, increase training intensity or to assist in keeping heart rate up and get through more workload in a session. Another option is the traditional way they were used, which was opposite muscle groups (antagonist). An example might be an incline DB Press for chest, superset with a DB Row done with two hands, face down on the same incline bench. Ill be doing some superset work and some giant set work with the relevant girls n guys as they approach the first of the shows, for those we need to ramp up intensity and workload. This wont detract and make the weight light though. They will still be using a significant weight. Never go “light” just for the sake of it and because someone said so…. Have a great week
