Support Worker/Housekeeper- Campbelltown Your opportunity to make a difference! Casual Position based in Campbelltown Ability to work a rotating roster covering day, afternoon and sleepover shifts. The St Vincent de Paul Society is a lay Catholic organisation that has almost 20,000 members and volunteers carrying out good works on behalf of the Society in NSW alone. The Society is one of the largest charitable providers in Australia today, helping people in every area of human need. Service Overview Vinchez Family refuge operates 24/7 to support women and their children who are Homeless at risk of homelessness or escaping Domestic Violence. We do this through a holistic case management model working with both women and their children through our pre-school or school holiday activities. The service structure consists of Coordinator, mobile team of Case Workers and House Keeper Monday to Friday and Community Service workers nights and weekends. About the Role A rewarding opportunity exists to join one of Australia’s largest operating charities on a casual basis. As the Support Worker/ Housekeeper you will report to the [Coordinator based at Macarthur. The Support Worker/Housekeeper will provide a variety of support to clients at the refuge and be responsible for all domestic duties related to the management of the household including catering needs of the residents and the maintenance of household supplies The conditions of employment are governed by the Social Community Homecare & Disability Services Award (SCHADS) (“the Award”) and the position is classified as Community Service Employee. Hourly rate range starts from $29.2230 inclusive of casual rate (SVDP Grade 2). What you need Ability to work with the homeless, to communicate effectively and respect the dignity of all people Good organisational skills Good written and verbal communication skills Experience in a hospitality service Appropriate driver’s license Knowledge of WH&S Act Understanding of the Child Protection Act Knowledge of stock control Knowledge of health standards and local Council health requirements Ability to work positively with all clients and to respect differing lifestyles and culture. Ability to work in a co-operative and empathetic manner when dealing with clients, other agencies, Society members, other staff and the public.
