Support for Typhoon Survivors: Tweets by International Celebrities, Rihanna, Aguilera, Ellen De Generes et al.... As the help from all over the world continue to arrive, both home-grown and international celebrities expressed concern for the typhoon survivors. International entertainment celebrities, who have been to the Philippines to perform, showed concern for affected Filipinos. Rihanna, Christina Aguilera and Jared Leto used Twitter to express their support. “Navy, please keep the people of The Philippines in your prayers! I was just there and this truly breaks my heart.” Rihanna tweeted. “My heart goes out to everyone there. “@cnnbrk: ‘Worse than hell’ in typhoon-ravaged Philippines”, Jared Leto posted. Christina Aguilera urged her friends by tweeting: “Let’s help families hit by typhoon #haiyan .My friends @WFP are on the ground. Help here wfp.org/typhoon . Thank you! XoXtina.” “Support UNICEF’s emergency relief efforts for kids in the #Philippines . How to help: uncf.us/1iS7EDh #Haiyan.” Ewan McGregor included a link in his post. McGregor happens to be in the film “The Impossible”, which is about the tsunami occurrence in Thailand last December 2004 with 230,000 people dead. TV host Ellen DeGeneres of The Ellen Show and a major Filipino talent supporter, posted in herNovember 12 tweet, “The devastation from Typhoon Haiyan is heartbreaking. You can help the Red Cross relief efforts here. ellen.tv/1eEHWER.” “Please help: join me to support Typhoon #Haiyan relief.” Kevin Bacon tweeted. In her account, Katie Holmes tweeted: “My heart goes out to everyone in the Philippines.” “Millions in the Philippines need clean water & shelter now. @oxfamgb is there: donate to their #Haiyan appeal! bit.ly/1gCHyaB”, posted Harry Styles as he expressed concern. “Join me and support relief & recovery in the Philippines after Typhoon Haiyan where 9.5 million R affected bit.ly/1iZMLG9 #reachout,” Charlize Theron posted, urging her followers.
