Support the Zs! Its a fundamental value of our collective to fund our work through the community and not be dependent on outside institutions to support what we do. In October 2012, we came together as a group of young Arab American women with a shared history of similar struggles and a passion for change. The core purpose of the Z collective is to serve as a bridge between existing efforts in social organizing of initiatives we identify needing immediate attention. Our organizing is communal and collective where we believe that the personal is political and that in return what is political is personal. The mere existence of this support system has the ability to change lives as it has changed the course of the lives of many of its members who are now able to take on broader radical socio-political work in the Dearborn community. Since our inception we have been a largely self-sustained collective. We’ve made significant connections throughout the community with both prominent organizations and individuals that’ve expressed a consensus with our goals. With that said, we aspire to expand our objectives via community support, socially and financially. We’ve developed a fundraising campaign that seeks to present our efforts in a manner that is transparent and requires community involvement. We are here asking for your support by donating as little as $1 to our cause, or sharing our campaign with your contacts. For any donations that exceed $500 we will be sending a framed and signed copy of the image by Noura Ballout used for this campaign.
