Supporting Our Charity Sector A NATIONAL CHARITY: In Parliament last week I held a meeting with a senior representative of The Prince’s Trust. I met their Director for Central England and we spoke about the continued good work of this excellent charity, which has changed countless thousands of lives for the better over the decades and which continues to have such a positive impact on the self-worth and opportunities of those who otherwise may not have been able to achieve their goals. I remain very proud of being made The Prince’s Trust’s “MP of the Month” a couple of years ago and intend to continue to work with them in the future. They are a truly first rate charity both in the work they do in Northampton and across the country and they have my full support. A LOCAL CHARITY: Also in the last fortnight I was again at the Cynthia Spencer Hospice, this time to be part of the presentation of a cheque for about £1,800 to the Hospice by members of the Northampton Jewish community. Last year the Northampton Hebrew Congregation celebrated 125 years in existence. To mark this impressive anniversary they produced a cookbook called ‘A Taste of Jewish Northampton’, and proceeds from this book were presented to the Hospice.
