Supreme Court shields the privacy of cell phones: From Emily - TopicsExpress

Supreme Court shields the privacy of cell phones: From Emily Sheketoff via the ALA Council list: ALA filed an amicus brief on this Fourth Amendment case and our opinion prevailed. From the unanimous opinion, “The term “cell phone” is itself misleading shorthand; many of these devices are in fact minicomputers that also happen to have the capacity to be used as a telephone. They could just as easily be called cameras, video players, rolodexes, calendars, tape recorders, libraries, diaries, albums, televisions, maps, or newspapers.” nytimes/2014/06/26/us/supreme-court-cellphones-search-privacy.html?emc=edit_na_20140625&nlid=68925078&_r=0
