Sura Buruj - 27th Sura revealed in Mecca. 85th Sura in the Holy Quran: Have you heard of the story of the Pharoah and of the Thamud? Yet the unbelievers still deny it. (Sura 85: verses 17-19): If you dont believe then read the stories of the Thamud and the Pharoah of Egypt. The Pharoah was a proud and powerful king whose nation was mighty, and advanced intellectually and materialistically; but when he went against God and His messenger (Moses), he and his people were no match to Gods Might. Similarly, the Thamuds, who were very advanced in architecture, made buildings which no one could surpass in beauty and magnificence. Despite all their wealth and power they could not protect themselves from Gods vengeance. History shows how God dealt with races that were disobedient to His Laws. How the mightiest of the mightiest have fallen against Gods Might. History should teach us a lesson but man continues to be disobedient forgetting the consequences.
