Surah al Baqarah Statement 221: Do not marry (polytheist, idolaters &/or pagan) women who ascribe divinity (to a being) beside ALLAH, unless they embrace the Faith (of Islam). To marry a Faithful bondwoman is ( certainly) better (& more profound) than a (free) woman who (is an idolatress &) ascribes divinity (to a being) beside ALLAH- although the later may (immensely) fancy you. Nor shall you marry (polytheist &/or pagan) men who ascribe divinity (to a being) beside ALLAH, unless they embrace the Faith (of Islam). To marry a Faithful bondman is ( certainly) better (& more profound) than a (free) man who (is an idolater &) ascribes divinity (to a being) beside ALLAH- although he may please you (greatly). (These situations are tempting.). They bring you (closer) to the (hell) fire . (Whereas) ALLAH invites you, by HIS grace, to Paradise and to forgiveness. ALLAH makes plain HIS injunctions to the people so that they may take heed.
