Sure, I realize that Nick Saban no doubt has other reasons for keeping underclassmen in school than his eagerness to see them earn a college degree--and I cant think of many coaches who would disagree with his motives--but I have to agree with him here. Ive long been critical of basketball players using one year of college experience as a springboard to the NBA--or, for that matter, kids jumping straight out of high school, as was the case with Moses Malone & Kevin Garnett--but I, too, would like to see athletes intent on getting their diplomas.
