Sure, Im probably prejudiced and need to have my basketball team forcibly taken away, but Ive always felt that if you drive an Escalade you have to work at least sixteen times harder for me not to be dismissive and judgmental about your lifestyle, despite your many other fine qualities. Theres just something so sadly autocratic, oblivious, and greed-flouting about a massive hunk of steel that in every possible way refutes the fine lines and aesthetics of the formally beautiful Cadillac. Not to mention porking the environment with each wanton mile, hogging two parking spaces, etc. But this ad renders all that mere bleating. This ad is just plain Caligulan. What exactly is the message here, if not that the distillation of thousands of years of rote exploitation, unearned privilege, and slave labor can still be purchased in the form of $80,000 worth of rolling turd? Also, David Bowie should have to gargle with Marie Antoinettes morning breath if he got a penny from this.
