Surely Im not the only one dumbfounded by the logic of the latest foreign workers visas that this LNP government is introducing? I understand that the previous government is complicit in the routing of these visa programs and their justification has always been that it is needed to make up the shortfall in skilled labor for business and industry. ( while the training of Australians to address this need for foreign workers, have been reduced to a level that will mean that this situation will continue, even while there are nearly a million Australians unemployed.) I also understand that the conservative political parties believe that the Liberal ideology of an unfetted free market, will ensure grow within the economy and the employment and training of our population. Even though this has been shown to be a fallacy. But the Neo Liberals of this Abbott government have taken this unsound philosophy to the extreme, with no gain for our economy or employment for Australians, with there latest visa scheme for the offshore industry. In this latest capitulation to corporate interests, they have allowed foreign vessels the right to bring their ships into the oil and gas industry, to profit off our resources, without having to pay any Tax while they operate here, if they are stay for less than 12 months and now they can employ foreign crews instead of Australians, these foreign workers will be paid at a lesser rate than the Australian awards and they too will not be required to pay Taxes on the wages they earn whilst here. This is Abbott continuing the degradation of our shipping industry, that was one of Howards biggest industrial campaign. So if we dont remove these Neo Fascists from government as soon as possible, we as a people, will become second class citizens in our own country as we are sold into servitude to the new Corporate Empires that have brought back slavery in the guise of productivity and have decimated the populations and fragile environments of most countries in the name of wealth fit the greedy few. And unless we are willing to make a stand, similar to Iceland, the Free Trade agreements and policies of the corporations implemented in our name, the power of Corporate Law, will blackmail future generations into honouring these dishonourable, inhumane and environmentally destructive practices or face economic ruin. Wake up people, our governments, our political and legal systems have been brought from out from under us, with the blessing of those that are supposed to represent us and our interests.
