Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life... (Psalms 23:6 NKJV) I have always loved this scripture in the bible, but the other day I was reading it and I was curious about that word "follow". So I looked it up. In the original Hebrew this word means to pursue, chase or hunt. I was like "Wow! Goodness is hunting me down? Really?" And then it clicked. Have you ever seen one of those reality police shows on tv? The ones where the police are involved a very dangerous car chase and they are going to every measure to overtake this criminal. What usually happens when this man (or woman) gets caught in the end of the chase? Many times they fall to their knees and throw their hands in the air. They surrender. Goodness and mercy are in a hot pursuit to catch us. What is going to be out reaction? We have two choices. - We can run. - Or we can fall on our knee and surrender to His awesome goodness and mercy. I want to start every morning in the most likely position to be overtaken - on my knees with my hands in the air. Surely goodness and mercy have caught me! ~Paige
