Surely there is ample reason to suspect God’s wrath and the GOP. Consider Hurricane Katrina that targeted a very red tea-party GOP oriented state. Did they listen…an emphatic NO! Evangelist Pat Robertson was credited [falsely or not] with having asserted that God sent Hurricane Katrina as punishment for the selection of Ellen DeGeneres to host the Emmy Awards. Surely God is more cunning than that, perhaps more nuanced is the word I am looking for or even Ironic. Does God have a sense of humor we might ask does he enjoy satire or practical jokes? I pose this inquiry only because of the recent violent and disturbing Hurricanes that seem to follow the GOP at critical times and we all know that George W Bush was reading a children’s book when 9/11 was taking place…this must have been a sign of God wrath. I think he must have been reading The Emperor Has No Clothes at the time however the secret service has not disclosed this information but has classified it as “top secret”. In 2012 at the start of the Republican convention it was so threatened by tropical storm Isaac the convention was delayed for one day giving Clint Eastwood time to prepare his chair conversation with Obama and did they take notice that this really pissed God off?...or course not they just plunged ahead to the end so God had to send Hurricane Sandy as an October surprise to demonstrate that the GOP was indeed his target. They seem to have a hint at last… “because according to right-wing thinkers the Lord is always testy.”
