Surge Lose in Womens Final Cincinnati States win streak was snapped at six with a 76-47 loss to host Monroe Community College in the championship game of the womens Pete Pavia Memorial Tournament. The setback dropped the Surge to 6-2. The Tribunes took advantage of cold Cincinnati State shooting to build a 15-point lead in the first four minutes of the contest and the Surge could never get back into the game. C-State shot a season-low 30 percent from the field. No Cincinnati State player scored more than seven points. Four of the five Monroe starters reached double figures. Two Surge, Maura Hackney and Samia Carter, were named to the all-tournament team. Cincinnati States next action is Friday when the Surge begin play at the South Suburban tournament in Chicago.
