Surgeon just left us.showed us a picture of dads old valve, ,,, yikes. ...he said it was really in bad shape. Even closed. ..it was actually still open quite a bit. Also showed us a picture of his new valve. The outer part is synthetic, but the inner part is cow tissue. It is stronger than pig tissue. Was not able to do the bypasses, as the arteries were embedded deeper in his heart than normal. He didnt want to take the risks, of the bypass procedures going terribly wrong. He thinks that with the new valve, alleviating the pressure on his heart, that dad may not even need stents, but if he does end up needing them in the future, it could be done via the femoral artery, or brachial artery. ...so we will be able to see him shortly.
