Suri and I have interesting walks. There was the dog who wanted to fight and its owner was okay with that and I had to pull the dogs apart, there are the dogs contained by electric fences who bark and charge up to their limits and Suri charges and barks right back. There were two German Shepherds in a car that barked at us and Suri turned around and went for the car and barked right back. Ive never seen her back down from anything. Shes not aggressive, shes very protective. We walked up the street one day and I saw a critter in the grass. too low to the ground to be a cat. It looked disoriented. We stayed back. Suri wanted it but there is no way we were going near it. It looked straight at us. It was a raccoon out in the morning and clearly was confused. We waited while the raccoon walked back and forth with behavior that made no sense at all. Then I saw a woman in her bathrobe in her front yard, she saw the raccoon, too. She yelled to us, come on, its okay. And I thought is this her pet??? I was waiting for her to go: Here kitty kitty! LOL!!! (like the commercial on tv). The raccoon crossed the street and Suri and I went up to talk to the lady in the bathrobe. Her husband took a plastic garbage can and a push broom to get the raccoon, but the coon went under a deck and he couldnt get it. One of the ladys big dogs got loose through the garage and came bolting across the yard toward me and Suri. The look on my face made her turn around and she got her dog, LOL, which was a friendly dog, but I wasnt worried about what that dog would do to us, I was worried about Suris reaction to a charging dog. Never saw the coon again, but we have taken a different route since then. :) mj
