Surprise! Here is one of our newbies . . . his shelter name was Sammy but weve renamed him Oliver. If you click on this FB link to see some of his backstory, you will know why our hearts sank when we learned of his situation (hes been at the shelter since early June, being held as an evidence dog which can mean either he was removed from a hoarding situation or an animal cruelty situation). Thats a long time to be stuck in a cage at a shelter! https://facebook/northcentralshelter/photos/a.264673846946387.64239.151616524918787/698924313521336/?type=1 Our volunteer Jill went to meet him today and some volunteers at the shelter were nice enough to send us video so we could see his temperament. Oliver is now checked in to our vet at Pico Boulevard Pet Hospital where Dr. Rattan is starting several courses of treatment. Oliver has fleas (and hair loss on his lower back) so they are bathing him, giving him flea meds, then his yeasty ears are being cleaned/treated with meds. His little penis problem is first being treated for the infection in that area and then we will go from there as far as evaluating a surgical repair (if needed). This dog seems to be like a really nice boy, just really really sad. We dont know what his story is, the shelter wouldnt tell us any details (we are hoping to find someone who volunteers there to get us some inside info). We are just happy this boy is now getting the Camp Cocker Rescue treatment. He deserved a break like this. Can you spare a $5 donation to help out Oliver with his medical?
