Surrey Police is appealing for witnesses following an altercation between two young men in Oxted on Christmas Eve. The incident happened at 2.40pm in a car park next to Morrisons supermarket in East Hill, next to a black-coloured 4X4 vehicle. The incident, involving young men, is believed to have been witnessed by a number of shoppers, and was stopped after a member of the public intervened. The first teenager is described as wearing blue tracksuit bottoms, and having a bare chest. The second is described as white, with dark hair and in his early 20s. Investigating officer Detective Constable David Every said: This was a distressing incident which we believe would have been seen by a number of people who were out and about on Christmas Eve. A brave member of the public stepped in to stop the fight and has since spoken to us. However I would urge anybody else who was in the area at the time to get in touch with us about what they might have seen before, or during the incident. We are particularly keen to speak to a woman, who upon seeing the incident, ran away with her crying child.” Anyone with any information should contact Surrey Police by calling 101 (999 in an emergency) or report it online at surrey.police.uk quoting the reference number 45140108718.
