Surveillance Officer Delaware North Companies - Wheeling Island, WV Qualifications Position Summary: Perform surveillance of facility and monitor procedural violations and illegal activity while maintaining confidentiality regulations in accordance with the Company’s GuestPath Universal Service and Operations Standards. Essential Functions: Verify and account for surveillance records, reports and camera views (mapping) Assure compliance with WV Lottery surveillance standards Provide surveillance of all gaming and non gaming areas of the property for the purpose of spotting procedural violations and illegal activity Use of audio/video equipment to observe business operations Comply with confidentiality regulations regarding all surveillance information including camera coverage, investigations and proprietary material Communicate via two-way radio with co-workers or other personnel Maintain accurate and timely written reporting and logging of any observed violations and illegal activity Maintain working knowledge of all departments at Wheeling Island Gaming, Inc. Maintain the departments minimum standard for report writing Maintain and demonstrate a Pro-Active approach to job duties and requirements Maintain current knowledge of camera locations and viewing angles Monitor facility intrusion, panic and fire alarms Monitor radio traffic as required Report promptly all camera and equipment deficiencies Use casino data system and slot data system on a daily basis Immediate communication of observations to the Surveillance Supervisor Perform as a team member and assist fellow employees to ensure a smooth operation Greet customers positively and timely, treating each person as an individual and in a professional manner Demonstrate skill in dealing with customer complaints, using active listening skills to defuse difficult and sometimes emotionally charged situations to maintain the customer’s goodwill Understand the goals and vision of the organization, and demonstrate commitment to those goals in terms of individual and team performance Prioritize tasks, handles multiple projects simultaneously, and organize assignments Complete other duties as assigned Non-essential Functions: Cleaning of work area Experience Required: High school diploma or equivalent required One or more years of experience preferred Experience in gaming industry preferred Basic computer skills preferred Knowledge of surveillance video equipment preferred Normal color perception Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Role model the GuestPath Universal Service Standards and Operational Standard interacting positively through relationships with guests, fellow associates and members of the management team displaying genuine concern and mutual respect for people’s needs Must be able to successfully demonstrate and pass all phases of Surveillance training, tests, etc. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift or carry 50 pounds Ability to operate Keypads Ability to climb ladders Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time Environmental Working Conditions: Exposure to secondhand smoke Exposure to high volume noise Exposure to electrical equipment Exposure to high places Exposure to cold temperature conditions
