Survey showed that 2/3 ppl in the UK feel uncomfortable talking to people with disabilities (New Internationalist Magazine - bit.ly/1hiwlyf) Regarding to the medias role, there was consensus among research respondents that seeing more disabled people as everyday characters (rather than obviously ‘good’ or obviously ‘bad’ characters) would help to raise awareness of disability among the wider public and reduce stigma and discriminatory attitudes.
