Surviving the Holocaust. The story of the Shoah through the eyes - TopicsExpress

Surviving the Holocaust. The story of the Shoah through the eyes of a child. Watched this because I just watched Judgement at Nuremberg 1961... I was three when that film was made about events that took place in post war Germany in 1948 ... That trial and the subsequent life sentences handed down to the German Judges of the Nazi era begged the question can a whole nation be complicit in the crimes of one individual against humanity? Is it a defence to say that, as judges, they were following due process of law in their country at that time, does Justice exceed the demands of human law? This film sets that in context. Here is a woman who was three at the time of the Holocaust. Who hid under piles of dead bodies in Bergen Belsen to warm. Who ate tree bark because she was starving, who lost almost her entire family...Who was alone in a post war Europe with so many others. How many Holocausts still continue as I type? How many three year old girls hide from bombs, shelter from artillery shells and still starve because the selfish greed of the powerful controls the food supply? Will it EVER change? Can we MAKE IT STOP, or is mans inhumanity to their fellow man eternal? youtu.be/z5JzDXOheA4
