Susan and I are changing the fuel pump after the car lost power and stalled on the way back from L.A. Susan checked the wiring to yhe pump from the fuse box to the pump. We found a loose pin in the fuel punp relay harness. The pumo was still loud on a test drive so we pulled the fuel pump. We found a detoriated fuel line from the tank to the pump. It imnediately started leaking when it flexed. Then I found this debris in the fuel pump screen. I cleaned it out with carb cleaner. I am hoping the fuel pump noise was cavitation from the debris. I was going to install a new pump but the two that were generously donated have a different thread pitch. Thoughts? Pump should still be good right?
