Shortly before 9 a.m., police, including a state police bomb squad, were called to the area of Bicentennial Court for a male who had set up a possible explosive device. The area, which includes senior citizen housing, has been evacuated. The bomb squad checked the outside of a building and firefighters laid hose lines as the bomb squad entered shortly after 10. “There is no one in danger at this time, but all people are advised to avoid the area while bomb squad investigation is ongoing,” police tweeted. “We will advise when the area is safe and clear.” Bicentennial Court is off East Street and Route 106. Norton firefighters are staffing the Mansfield fire station. The Sun Chronicle has a reporter/photographer on scene and will update this breaking news story on this website and in its Sunday printed edition.
