Sustainable Living Horsham Caravan Park Solar Hot Water Installation • Up to 75 % savings in energy costs by going solar • Assisted funding through Department of Industry - Local Government Energy Efficiency Grant • Installed by Wades Gas & Paint and Halls Gap Plumbing • Project managed by Councils sustainability team • Total cost of the project: $36,000 with rebates of $5000 Systems installed: 8 solar collectors on the main amenities block with 4 gas boost units and 4 storage units, total capacity of the system is 860 litres with 2 X 175 litre solar gas boosted units on the two new Horsham Caravan Park villas The project was aimed at replacing the electric hot water units with a more efficient energy alternative and reduced running cost solution. The oldest unit still in service was approximately 30 years old and many were starting to fail.
