Sustainable (solar) power is really the way to go. Especially here in Pinas. Sunshine right after a typhoon. What better place. If Germany located in the temperate zone went all out for solar why not us? I understand Germany has already 3times solar power generating capacity than conventional sources. Arabs nor Russia can no longer blackmail them. If only our government supports this direction, we might still become the new Tiger in Asia. Power cost is highest here excepting Japan, costing as much as in North America. If only taxes were removed on solar panels, or better still if it were subsidized, payback on investment can be as little as 2yrs or less, that is if we can sell back power to the grid as is done in 1st-world countries. We now manufacture large quantities of panels but they are for export it seems as I dont see them yet in Binondo. What are sold there are from China and sell for twice the cost quoted in Alibaba, the chinese ebay. The sweetener is as temperature soars to unbearable sweating levels, all the more solar power is at its peak efficiency. Oh, if only we can fight the lobby of power companies... Then even our homes wont be at the mercy of the greedy.
