Suzie Louder Amy Fugal I was a private investigator in several states, and have worked investigations. I also do volunteer work in missing cases when I can, working with SAR and offering my professional opinions. So, here are my current thoughts: 1. Use the media. Saturate all of the newspapers, stations, and radio with requests for assistance. But you have to understand, there must be a reason for the story. i.e. they cannot keep repeating KL still missing. 2. Do NOT bash investigators or LE publicly. I know it can be frustrating. I know it can seem as if police are working against you. But putting a wall between you only works against you. Let your presence be known; i.e. send cards, notes, etc. that say thank you for your continued work on our case vs why arent you doing anything? 3. So many volunteers will say thats a good idea - and thats it. Recall the old story of Who will put the bell on the cat? Everyone on the FB pages needs to be writing clear, concise, professional letters to the media, or anyone else, requesting help. The communication HAS to be professional. 4. Include local college media, too. Campus papers, stations...ask to speak to local criminal justice and social work classes. Be sure to explain what your presentation can teach (instructors are always seeking guest speakers). 5. As I mentioned before, will help if you created and organized volunteers to departments. 6. Flyers to all homes in a 5 mile radius from where last seen and where located. Consider those mail-outs... I sent you a link. Dont touch mailboxes (thats illegal). If you do the mail-outs you wont have to worry about homeowners assoc. 7. Wish I still had PI lic. & lived closer (not saying I am better! Just saying Id like to assist). Hope this helps.
