Suzie’s story: “Our Lab X, Suzie, is now 15 months old. We first took her to Raw Essentials when she was 4 months. We were looking for a solution to her chewing problem. The decking and her own kennel were destroyed! We thought that if she had bones to chomp on she’d not want to damage as much. The staff at Raw Essentials were friendly, approachable and gave us the time we needed to ask all our questions. It took a couple of visits before we decided to change Suzie’s diet to Raw. We wanted to use up the dry food we had, consider how much it would cost, and do a little more research about Raw diets for dogs. Feeding Suzie raw was easier than we thought. We simply stock up the freezer and weigh portions at meal times. She’s now on 300g in the morning and 300g at night. Suzie eats the food frozen so we simply throw it out of the door into the yard. No need to clean a bowl anymore. It’s been interesting weighing her at Raw Essentials to see how she’s grown. When we buy food for Suzie at Raw Essentials the vet is often in the shop. She has got to know Suzie, which is great. It’s fantastic to get feedback about how healthy her coat, teeth and weight are. The chewing problem has improved. I think this is due to a combined approach of feeding her raw, walking her more regularly (2-3 x 30-45min walks a day) and providing her with some sticks and a Kong to chew. I feel that feeding Suzie raw food is the most natural approach. We don’t eat processed food so why should she! P.S. The smaller, less smelly poo’s are a big improvement thanks to the raw diet.”
