Svetlana Tulasi concert Hyderabad, India Sundarayya Kala Nilayam Temple January 25th at 7 p.m. Svetlana Tulasi is the solo artist of Indian Classical Dance group “Chakkar”. Her Guru is one of the most prominent Guru’s of Kathak dance in Russia - Ekaterina Selivyorstova. Her Guru studied at Kathak Kendra University in Delhi from Guru Urmila Nagar and is a representative of Jaipur Gharana. Svetlana’s father was a businessman from Hyderabad who studied, worked and lived in Moscow, and her mother is Russian. Svetlana was born and raised in Russia, and her main hobby activity continues to be Kathak dance. She participated in such important occasions as: • The opening of “Year of India in Russia” in 2009 at the famous “Bolshoi theatre” supported by the President and the Government of both countries; • Popular TV show “Ukraine’s Got Talent” where she became a semi-finalist; • “Bollywood Dance Star” international competition in Moscow, where she won 1st prize and a hand-made Swarovski crystal crown made in Syria; • Various all-Russian and Ukrainian Classical & Bollywood dance competitions since 2008. In 2013 Svetlana graduated from Prayag Sangeet Samiti University (Allahabad) as a top-tier student. However her main higher education is Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation. This year she came to perform in India, Hyderabad, for the first time during her 10+ years dancing experience. She will perform a classical Kathak dance program with live music held at Sundarayya Kala Nilayam Temple on January 25th 2014 starting at 7 p.m.
