Swallowtail Butterflies...well thanks to google, I have answered my own question. I have wondered why among all the yellow swallowtails there is one black one. Is it a morph? Is it a cohabiting species/variety of swallowtail? So in looking it up on line, I have discovered that the Eastern Tiger Swallowtail, something we have clusters and clusters of here on the farm shows up in black when it is a female. The females are both yellow and black and have some undiscernable wing pattern (to me) that shows they are female. Seldom do I ever see more than one black one among all the yellows, but this particular day, there were 2 in the cluster. I just love this kind of stuff.
