Swasti Sudan writes, Over the course of a decade, William Henry ‘Bill’ Cosby junior has been accused of rape by 13 women. Getting away with one rape can perhaps, be chalked up to celebrity privilege and money (but even that is unacceptable), but here is a man who has been accused of rape by not one but thirteen women in the past 10 years, and up until now, there has been no noise, and no action has been taken against him. All that has happened in fact is that over the past 10 years, Cosby has settled one (the only) case brought into court in a confidential manner (and that case rested on what legal professionals call a ‘lack of evidence’), and the statute of limitations on a number of other cases has run out. That basically means that just because he is a celebrity, no action seems to have been taken against him, despite the fact that 13 women have come forward with their story.
