Sweat Sensor for Detection Conjugated polymers are large - TopicsExpress

Sweat Sensor for Detection Conjugated polymers are large molecules that can change their absorption and emission properties in response to chemical stimulation. This property has made these polymers useful for the development of biosensors. In the most recent example of conjugated polymer sensors, addition of an element that attracts and holds water molecules to conjugated polymers called polydiacetylenes (PDAs) has been used to develop a color-changing sensor system that rapidly responds to small quantities of water present in sweat. A description of the new sensor, designed by Jong-Man Kim of Hanyang University and his collaborators, is reported in the journal Nature Communications.
