Sweeping changes on the sports agenda.....more soccer Managers are chopped.....historical changes as R&A opens the door...ready for The Ryder Cup....spectacular Singapore switches on the lights for F1 but Ecclestone switches off the radios.... The football Managers merry-go-round has taken another spin with casualties at Championship clubs Cardiff and Fulham. Magath, in charge of Fulham since February, was unable to prevent relegation from the Premier League last season. Fulham are bottom of the Championship, having taken just one point from their first seven games of the new campaign. Cardiff Citys Solskjaer has stepped down after less than nine months in charge. The Bluebirds are 17th in the Championship after three losses in seven games, including Tuesdays 1-0 home defeat by Middlesbrough and a 4-2 crunching against Norwich. Whos next ? Seems that Magpies Pardew has had a chat with Chairman Ashley after the hefty defeat at Southampton. The Magpies are propping up the EPL with two points from four games so he must be looking over his shoulder....the weekend game against Hull could be decisive..... Some eye catching games coming up over the weeekend. Table toppers Chelsea travel to Man City for Sundays match of the day whilst Saturday sees 2nd place Villa tackle Arsenal ; and what a game in prospect as 3rd place Swansea welcome 4th place Southampton...could be a cracker !! Big Yorkshire derby match in The Championship as Leeds United host Huddersfield whilst leaders Notts Forest travel to Millwall.... Scotland is deciding its future in a Referendum (it looks like a NO vote)....and The R&A has been holding its own ballot as The Club has voted in favour of allowing women members for the first time in its 260-year history. More than three-quarters of the 2,400 global members took part in the ballot with 85% in favour of change. Just wonder if change may now come at three Open venues which currently still have male-only membership - Muirfield, Royal St Georges and Royal Troon. Time will tell..... And time is passing quickly as we move towards the 40th Ryder Cup, which tees off in just one weeks time at Gleneagles. Practice sessions start officially on Tuesday...and The Official Opening Ceremony is on Thursday. Meanwhile four members of Team Europe are in action in The Welsh Open Championship at Celtic Manor. Ryder Cup rookie Welshman Jamie Donaldson was the best placed of the European team members on one under, 5 shots off the lead held by Netherlands Joost Luiten. The three other members of Paul McGinleys team were well off the pace with Thomas Bjorn level par, Lee Westwood two over and Stephen Gallacher failing to make a single birdie in a disappointing 78. But as we know The Ryder Cup is a different kettle of fish....remember Medinah ? Spectacular Singapore plays host to the next round of F1 racing, and no doubt the season-long battle between Mercedes team-mates Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg will be resumed. Formula 1 broke new ground in 2008 when Singapore hosted the sports first ever night race - and it turned out to be an event no one would ever forget. Rosberg is currently 22 points ahead of Hamilton who reduced the gap by seven points with a dominant victory in Monza two weeks ago. All eyes will be on the Hamilton vs Rosberg duel but dont forget Red Bulls Daniel Ricciardo. The Australian is in third place, 72 points Rosberg but has taken three wins in the last seven races...he may just be shining under the lights of Singapore. But team radio advice to drivers may be redundant as teams have been given a list of about 50 items of permitted and banned radio messages. And the man behind it....Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone.....stay tuned in for more .... Its all happening...well keep you posted....
