Sweet baby birdie bee needs some prayers. She was pulled from OPAS BC She was on the list to be euthanized. She tested positive for heartworms and ehrlichiosis. We have started her on a treatment program for that. She is now in acute heart failure because of the heartworms. She had a shot of Lasix yesterday and has been started on Lasix by mouth twice a day. Once we pull some fluid off her, then we will start her on some heart meds. She is more short of breath than normal but not miserable. She is peeing like crazy-which is what we want!! She has a potential home in MD if we can get her healthy enough to travel! Shes a sweet girl and deserves this chance! Please put your dogs on heartworm prevention! This is terrible for her to go through and for us to watch BC her owners were too selfish to care!
