Sweet, loving, patient and kind Father, thank You for hearing this prayer. Thank You for being patient and kind. Your mercies are beyond comprehension. Forgive and cleanse me wherein I fail You. Cleanse me of my unrighteousness. Set my feet on the solid Rock. Help me to be salt in this world that is bland and tasteless, decaying and rotting, corrupting and foul. Salt is distinctive, help me to be different from the world. Salt preserves, help me to do my part to save the world from corruption. Salt penetrates, help me to penetrate the world and insert a new life into it. That life is the life that Jesus brings to born again believers. Salt flavors, help me to flavor and influence the world for Christ. Salt spreads, So I ask You to help my salt spread far and wide, to touch many souls for Christ. Dear Lord, I ask You to help me not lose my saltiness. And for those who have lost their saltiness, which represents a backslider, I lift them up to You. The Bible says, they become useless just as salt does. They are of no value in doing the work of salt in the kingdom. They may as well be cast out and trodden underfoot. O Lord, that is so sad! They actually destroy the fertility of some out in the world by becoming a stumbling block and by not being able to salt them. Dear Lord, have mercy, draw them back to You and I pray they will be responsive to Your call on their lives. I pray they will be the salt You have designed and instructed them to be.
