Swiss Maestro Roger Federer climbed back to No. 4 position in the ATP Rankings this week, following a quarter-finals appearance at the Sony Open in Miami. Federer had fallen to No. 8 position after the Aussie Open loss – his lowest ranking in 12 years. Now, he leads the ATP World Tour with a 22-4 win-loss record on the season. Interestingly, another Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka is just 515 points ahead of Roger Federer. Former Wimbledon finalist Tomas Berdych also returned to No. 5 position in the rankings for the first time since September last year after a semi-final showing in the Sony Open. Berdych leapfrogged Spaniard David Ferrer, who lost his No. 5 position in the rankings for the first time since June 2012. Top American John Isner also reclaimed his career-high ranking of No. 9, followed up by the Canadian Milos Raonic, who returned to Top 10 after successive quarter-final appearances in Indian Wells and Miami. Raonic replaced Frenchman Richard Gasquet for the No. 10 position. Gasquet could hold on to his Top 10 status for only one week since October 2012. Interestingly, Novak Djokovic’s consecutive title wins in Indian Wells and Miami, has given him 2000 points and now he is less than 2000 points behind the World No. 1 Rafael Nadal. Djokovic lost his numero-uno ranking to Nadal in September. Well, the Spaniard has always done well on the European clay-court swing, but Djokovic has a great chance to overtake him – this time. Nadal will be defending winner’s points in Barcelona, Madrid, Rome and French Open
