Sydneysiders, like people across Australia, will be saddened and shaken by what has unfolded overnight, culminating in the tragic loss of two innocent people. My thoughts are with their family and friends. Those hostages that survived have also endured an extremely traumatic experience and will need our full support. Sydneysiders are a resilient bunch, who are grateful to our police and emergency service professionals for keeping us safe It is vitally important we do not let this tragic and scary incident diminish the multi-cultural and multi-faith community that provides Sydney with such great strength.
