Syed Ali Geelani distributed relief cheques worth Rs five lakh and kits containing essential commodities Srinagar,19 November 2014(CNS):-Chairman Syed Ali Geelani today distributed relief cheques worth Rs five lakh and kits containing essential commodities among 50 more flood affected families. Wednesday in a phase nine cash distribution to the flood victims, Syed Ali Geelani gave away cheque for Rs 10000 and a relief kit to each of the more 50 flood affected families . Syed Ali Geelani said that though we were put to test by almighty Allah during recent floods but instead of all this we tried our best to help these and we deeply feel for the affected families and share their sorrows and till date we have distributed Rs 45 lakh and 5 thousand quintals of rice among 450 deserving families .in addition bedding and clothing’s among 7000 flood affected families were distributed, said central Relief Committee in its statement.Despite all odds and impediments relief and rehabilitation mission is being carried forward statement added.Syed Ali Geelani in his brief address to affected families said that we should seek help from Almighty Allah and to whom we must submit .He said that we feel that Srinagar was worst hit during recent flood fury and its markets and business establishments lost theirglory. Srinagar was a business hub but recent floods has turned it into a ghost city and it has lost itsglory, grace and splendor. Syed Ali Geelani said that even after lapse of twomoths’situation in Srinagar is still grim and gloomy and added that Delhi and state authoritiesfeel no sympathy with those affected during deluge, instead they hurriedly jumped into election fray. Their approach towards these people is callous andinsensitive, said Geelani .They have no sympathy with the people instead are hecticabout electiondrama and luring people on false assumptions. They are deceivingpeople, said Syed Ali Geelani and referring a news item published in today’spapers said that authorities offer a meagre amount of Rs 3800 to each affected familyfor repair or construction of collapsed houses. It is a ridiculous said Geelaniand sad i feel about that how can they manage to repair their lodgings out of this meagre amount.Taking dig at authorities,Geelani said that state collects tens of millions against charges from tax payers and that amount is looted by corruptbureaucrats.Administration is duty bound to come to the rescue of common people as they pay taxes from their pockets saidGeelani. He in his statement ridiculed pro-Indian parties and in his specialreference to BJP added that they with power, moneyand influence are bargaining for votes and are spending huge amounts for horse trading. He added that there is no difference between NationalConference, Congress, PDP,and PeoplesConference and irrespective of their origin and affiliations all these parties areresponsible to strengthen the Indian domain and occupation. Syed Ali Geelani said that these parties are least serious about Kashmir issue and they have no option other than to obey dictates from armed forces. Lashing at National Conference, Syed Ali Geelani said that they for last six years despite beingin power, were not able to repeal AFSPA and now are rhetoric about it and in their tall claims are again trying to befoul people over this issue. On the other hand the contesting parties aretalkingfor so-called changeand development and take people for ride and just making a fun of their vote and support, saidGeelani andadded this is the reason that we have decided to boycott election drama. He urged people to reject all those parties playing with their sentiments.Syed Ali Geelani said that they act as stooges for India and in his passionate appeal to state employees and requested to deposit their one day salary in account for flood affected families and also in his appeal to business community and sports industry urged to show generosity and asked to come forward to help flood hit families.
