Sykes Garro breaks Lynx hearts. Todays Group A decider saw Lynx FC face off against Lions FC. Lynx went into the match only needing a point and it was a must win game for Lions. Winners of this match would go on to play College Europa in the semis. The first half was very cagey with both teams struggling to get any grip on the game. As the game went on Lynx started to dominate with a succession of corners but nothing really struggled the Lions keeper. The first half ended with both teams yet to make any kind of impact on the game with Lynx happy to keep the scoreline at 0-0. The second half started with Lions on the attack as Lynx were happy to defend and catch Lions on the counter-attack. A moment of disaster happened midway through the second half, in the space of a few minutes Lynx had two players sent off. Lions couldnt believe what was happening, lifting Lions chances off getting a win. Lions broke the deadlock. Alex Gonzalez striking first and it looked like the dream of the semis was soon coming true. Just when you thought you had saw everything, Lynx had another player sent off. Lynx players seeming to have a lack of discipline. The game turned on its head yet again with 8 man Lynx awarded a penalty and scoring to get their side back on level terms and most likely through to the next round. Today showed us that in the beautiful game that is football, it only takes a second to score a goal. Theres a saying that is quite popular in football and it goes a little like Cometh the hour, Cometh the man and the man goes by the name of Sykes Garro. In the last kick of the game Lions were awarded a penalty and Sykes Garro got the nod to take it. The stadium went completely silent as Sykes placed the ball on the spot and smashed it straight into the back of the net sending the Lions players, management and fans into an absolutely frenzy. We all cant forget Lopez Luques wonder goal in Lions first match against Man62, if it wasnt for that stunner (which the people at 5point4 cant believe they witnessed it) all this wouldnt be possible.
