Syndicate active for trading lifting Indian motorcycles in Lalmonirhat Our Correspondent, Lalmonirhat An organised syndicate members are active for trading Indian lifting motorcycles in Lalmonirhat, adjoining districts. These lifting Indian motorcycles are smuggled away into the Bangladesh illegally, and then these go to the customers’ hand showing false documents of customs’ auction. The syndicate gang prepares false document of customs’ auction, and they sale these lifting Indian motorcycles using these false documents. A team of plain cloth DB police conducted a raid at Alorupa Intersect area in the town today Thursday afternoon and seized lifting Indian pulser motorcycle that was taken into Bangladesh through smuggling. DB police also seized false document of customs’ auction on the spot. Police sources said, a strong syndicate is formed taking support of politics in the town to control the Indian lifting motorcycle trade. The syndicate members encourage the consumers showing the false document of customs’ auction, and the consumers are interested highly to buy these motorcycles with the support of customs’ auction paper as no other documents even license are needed if customs’ auction paper in hand. The syndicate also sends these Indian lifting motorcycles to the capital Dhaka and other parts of the country, and they earn a windfall profit over the night. People living close to Indo-Bangla border at Mogholhat village in Lalmonirhat sadar said, the syndicate thefts in India lift motorcycles in India and send these into Bangladesh through crossing the border. The Bangladesh syndicate members buy these lifting motorcycles at between Tk 15 to 25 thousand. Later the syndicate sale one motorcycle at between Tk 60 to 70 thousand to the customers through encouraging them with the false documents of customs’ auction. Some unscrupulous police and customs officials are involved with the syndicate, so the syndicate solve administrative problems easily, sources said. Contacted to the OC of Lalmonirhat police Pradip Das said, DB police conducting special drive to capture the syndicate and the result will come very soon.
