Synopsis of HR 1422 and copy of HR 1422. HR 1422 prohibits anyone from serving on the Scientific Advisory Board to the EPA if their work will be reviewed by the board. Simply put the Bill would eliminate scientists and academic researchers who are experts in their fields from serving on the board because the papers, studies, reports that they have published would be reviewed by the board. Those are exactly the people we would want on the Scientific Advisory Board to the EPA. We certainly dont want industry representatives who have a pecuniary interest in the use of certain chemicals or procedures to serve on the Scientific Advisory Board.
