Syria in Last 24 Hours: Hundreds of Militants Surrender to Army across SyriaTEHRAN (FNA)- Hundreds of foreign-backed terrorists surrendered themselves to the army in different parts of Syria. More than 500 militants laid down their arms in the last 24 hours in different parts of Damascus, Idlib, Hama, Homs, Aleppo and Qamishli and gave in to the Syrian army. Also in the past 24 hours, the Syrian army units clashed with the militants in the surrounding areas of Gharaz Al-Kharbat and wheat silos in the Southeastern parts of Daraa province. Also, the Islamic State of the Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) confirmed death of one of its ringleader Abu Mokarameh Al-Ansari. Meantime, the Syrian air force conducted several military operations in Yabroud town and the surrounding areas of Faliteh town in Damascus countryside. Also, the Central and Northern parts of Daraa province in Southern Syria were scene of massive operations of the Syrian army against the foreign-backed militants. Meantime, the media reports said that Al-Qaeda has 25,000 militants in Syria out of which 2,000 are Europeans. Elsewhere, the Central and Northern parts of Daraa in Southern Syria were scene of massive operations of the Syrian army against the militants. The Navi-Al-Sheikh Maskin road in Daraa was scene of clashes between army units and the militants on Tuesday. Also, different Internet sites showed picture of a Salafi Kuwaiti lawmaker while making bombs for Takfiri groups in Syria. The photo of Walid Al-Tabatabei was released on Internet showing him making bomb for Takfiri groups in Aleppo in Northern Syria. Meantime, the United Nations Children’s Fund said the number of children affected by the crisis in Syria has more than doubled over the past year, with hundreds of thousands of young Syrians trapped in besieged parts of the country. After three years of conflict and turmoil, Syria is now one of the most dangerous places on earth to be a child,” UNICEF said. In their thousands, children have lost lives and limbs, along with virtually every aspect of their childhood. They have lost classrooms and teachers, brothers and sisters, friends, caregivers, homes and stability, UNICEF said. Since the turmoil broke out in Syria three years ago, some 130,000 people have been reportedly killed and millions of others displaced due to the conflict.
