Syrian FM : US-Led Coalition Against ISIL Unsuccessful Nov 29, 2014 #Syrias foreign minister says the US-led airstrikes against the #ISIL in #Iraq and Syria have failed to weaken the terrorist group by all indications. Walid #Muallem said the ISIL militants are making advances in both countries, two months after the US and its allies began their aerial campaign to curb the spread of the extremist group. Speaking to the Lebanon-based al-#Mayadeen #TV, Muallem also accused Turkey of impeding efforts to counter the ISIL, saying Ankaras plan to establish a no-fly zone in northern Syria would do nothing but split up the country. Muallem also called on the United Nations to force Turkey into applying more controlling measures on its borders to stop militants from joining the ISIL in Syria.
