Syrian Refugee Appeal: this is a very interesting project that seeks to assist Syrian refugees at camps on the Syrian-Turkish border - to provide employment for widows and other women (often the only bread-winner of the family) as well as to provide warm jumpers for children in the camp. More details of the project at: faizaan9.wordpress/2013/09/02/the-sufiya-wool-project/ The project is run by volunteers and a small, select group will be travelling next week from UK to the camps to assist in coordination activities. Each of the volunteers will have self financed from their own pockets the cost of flights, accommodation, food etc for the week long trip. I know some of them personally and can attest to their utmost suitability on this trip. I encourage anyone wishing to assist the plight of Syrian refugees (mainly women and children) who have fled a worsening, brutal conflict at home and find themselves at the mercy and kindness of strangers, to donate financially.
