Syrian flag flows in Nanjing within 2nd Asian Youth Games Aug 15, 2013 #Nanjing, #China, (#SANA)- To the tunes of the National Anthem, the Syrian flag few in the city of Nanjing in China which is hosting the 2nd Asian Youth Games between August 14-24. The ceremony of hoisting the flag took place Thursday afternoon amid a special sport festivity held by the high committee organizing the Asian Games in the presence of the Syrian athletics mission at the Olympic village. The festivity included artistic and folkloric shows. The mission comprises 28 athletes who will compete in 7 games, which are handball, judo, swimming, athletics, weightlifting, table tennis, and tennis. The Syrian participation started last Tuesday when the national handball team qualified for the second round after beating Kazakhstan 32-29 and Hong Kong 39-27, and it will play Iraq and Saudi Arabia in the second round. Sixteen Asian teams are taking part in the Asian Youth Games tournament divided into four groups. Syria is playing within group 4 which includes South Korea, Hong Kong and Kazakhstan.
