T.12.9.14 +1 Meditated once in the hot tub under falling snow. A+ +2 Mindfully went on a Presence Gift Exchange/ Grocery Shopping trip to Meijer. It took longer than normal because I paid attention to everyone. I realize why I armor myself with rushter (like laughter, but rushing). There are a lot of sad, needing people out there. Its much more time conducive to just plow through the day & not really see/hear people. So busy like an ant I can be, but one thing that I know- Im still pretty good at seeing people behind their steering wheels in cars. I see them & I peace fingers them when Im driving. Whenever I do this I think about my Dad. He taught me at some point that its inexcusable to run over a turtle. He said that we should never be in such a rush. Sorry for the sidebar. +5 I like Bill W. the helper guy at Meijer. Last time I shopped @ Meijer, I had all 3 kids with me. I thought I forgot my card in the vehicle, so I asked for him to hold my cart while I took kids to car, pulled up to building, then paid for my stuff. When I came back, he had bagged my groceries & suspended my sale. And he was smiling because hes awesome like that. Today I just had Sylvester, my baby, with me. Even though I was in bag your own lane, (something that drives Ryan nuts about me), Bill W. scanned all my groceries for me & deterred Sylvester from crying twice, creating baby belly laughs. Bill W. probably does that all day long, every day. Either that or he just likes me & my kids. I looked him the eyes today & thanked him for being so awesome to me & my kids, which prompted him to respond instantly with gratitude for bringing joy into his lane, but I want to plan something really bigger for him. Perhaps a super hero shirt or- I dont know- I guess I need your help on this one. Does anyone know Bill W? Another thing I did recently that I forgot about is I got Albert @ Isabellas Copper Pot 2 Barbara Streisand cps because he just opened up his Blood Juice Juice & Smoothie Bar & my favorite drink so far is the Barbara Streisand. That drink is going to knock years off everyones face who drinks it there @ the miracle bar. I thanked Albert again for doing something awesome for Gaylord! Today I also arranged for Clovers elf to bring her new markers following a project we completed (purging of the markers, crayons, colored pencils) against her will yesterday. Toby the Elf left her a note saying what a pain little brothers are when they leave the caps off markers. I made it a point to color with her & looked into her eyes & told her that the color she brings into my days is brilliant. The other big gratitude/presence thing Im working on is Ryans Christmas gift. Instead of traditional giftage this year, we are each organizing 6 monthly alternating special dates with childcare arranged. I have a lot of thought/organizing on that front left to do… ! +1 Checking In My sister, the counselor, recently shared Chapman & Campbells book The 5 Love Languages of Children. Were all children, deep deep down. It might behoove all of us to study the 5 basic ways the kids around us like to be loved: 1. Words of Affirmation 2. Quality Time 3. Physical Touch 4.
