T. P Mazembe star Rainford Kalaba has been named the new captain of the Chipolopolo of Zambia national team ahead of the 2015 Afcon hosted by Equitorial Guinea. This is because former captain Stopilla Sunsu relinquished the armband in other to play his sole role as a central defender. The defender said he was happy to lead the team through the qualifying round and has decided to drop the armband. Kabala the new skipper would be assisted by Grasshopper midfielder Nathan Sinkala. Coach of the side, coach Honour Jazz said it is a sign of honour that Sunzu has stepped down and the new captain has accepted it with humility and also vowing to honour the bigger boys in the team. The Chipolopolo are paired with Dr. Congo, Cape verde Island and Tunisia.
